Lani (the Bus) is a 1970 Volkswagen T2a Transporter "bay window bus." The first VW bus model after the classic split window type that everyone’s crazy about - we don’t know why, Bay Window buses are waaay cooler! Still one of those old clunky vehicles that is all analog and all old school character. She's like a time machine that can’t really go faster than 45 mph downhill with the wind behind us.
The driver of the Lani Bus is certifiably crazy. He traded his reliable old Toyota for this and now when he's not busy selling sunglasses or working on boats, he's troubleshooting odd noises on this classic old beauty.
Lani the Bus is the official mode of land transport for Lani Shades Hawaii. You might see us driving around the island of O’ahu, at local markets, delivering inventory to our retail partners, collabing with friends, parked around Ala Wai harbor or just cruising around.
