Olek and Viki from Ukraine, you might recognize them as the first models for the new Ohe Ono and Ao collection.
** Super SUPER special... this is almost too special to share but here it is... Lani Shades as you know was started by sailors in Hawaii aboard the sailing vessel Gemini, Captain Greg's classic Alberg 35 sailboat which features in a lot of our photos. It was on sailing trips around the Hawaiian islands with many awesome crew that inspired this brand. Back in 2021, s/v Gemini got a new mainsail and the old mainsail was given to our friends Olek and Viki, refugees from Ukraine who are expert craftspeople and they turned the old mainsail into... sail bags!! This is one of the coolest things ever! Captain Greg has been clinging to them but really should sell a few and so if you're interested in an awesome sail bag made from s/v Gemini's old mainsail, just send a DM!
** And if you happen to be on Oahu and want to go for a sail aboard s/v Gemini, we're always looking for crew and models to wear Lani Shades on the boat, just send us a DM!
