Lens color

Timeless classic hand crafted wood sunglasses sustainably made of layered composite wood. Lani Kai means sky and ocean and mauka means from the land in Hawaiian. The Eddie style is named in honor of legendary big wave surfer Eddie Aikau who gave his life trying to save the crew of Hokule'a in 1974. Lani Kai Eddies are made with the highest quality scratch resistant UV400 polarized lenses with emerald green finish. Stainless steel spring hinges adjust comfortably to fit. Styled for men and women and each comes in a durable bamboo tube case, with pouch and cleaning cloth.

Lani Shades wood sunglasses frames float and if they float away, that's less plastic on the beach! Each pair sold plants a tree through our partnership with One Tree Planted.

Customer Reviews

Lani Shades was born out of the search for the perfect sunglasses to wear for sailing in Hawaii. Looking up at the sun to trim your sails you need the best polarized eye protection. If your Lani's fall overboard, wood frames naturally float and if they float away that's a little less plastic in the sea.

What people are saying

★★★★★

Love these shades!!! They are comfortable, functional and stylish. I wear these everywhere. I wore these on a week long sail...and I'm certain they will be just as effective in Colorado with the glare from snow!! On top of that, they are environmentally responsible. Winning.

I was skeptical of wooden shades at first. I was afraid they’d be brittle. But after wearing these for a while I’m convinced they’re as durable as any shades I’ve ever owned. And I don’t have to baby them like more expensive pairs I own. I LOVE these shades!
